Question for the field report, the first question in part C says 'what seems to be the cause of the climate?' It is referring to the physical climate of the classroom, right? I wasn't sure what the question was referring to exactly so I wanted some feedback!
heyy! I'm not really sure either.. i thought it would be something like.. is it awkward for you and the children to be in a class with a teacher.. or if the teacher made it comfortable for the children to talk to her and each other.. i don't really know but that's what i think i also need some feed back.
hey guys! i wasnt sure of the question either.....the way i took it was-is the classroom hot or cold and why, how did the room look (messy organized) and were the students/teacher welcoming of you or not......i hope this is what the question means!!
First of all, what's the climate? We're not talking about temperature...we're talking about intangible atmosphere. Is it noisy? Why? Is it regimented? Why? Is it cheerful? Is it quiet? Is it organized? Is it still? Do lessons blend together? Is everyone serious? etc, etc...
(Didn't finish) So, what causes the climate? It's not simply the teacher's manner...it could be the combination of students, number of students, how many PA interruptions are there, does the principal have certain "guidelines" to follow? Are there aides in the class? Is the teacher super-in-charge? Think about it...
A forum for students to share their initial field observations, comments on readings, and suggestions and recommendations from research on the web and elsewhere.
